Introducing XBR 84X900 The Worlds First 84 inch 4K Ultra HD TV !

Sony said that the worlds first 4K Ultra HD content system will be launched with the release of its XBR-84X900 84-inch 4K Ultra HD TV. The TV itself will come packed with 8 million individual pixels (3,840 x 2,160) and possibly enough sparkle and clarity to make you forget to go back to work or to feed the goldfish.

"The XBR-84X900 has a three chipset solution that incorporates Sony’s proprietary and critically-acclaimed X-Reality PRO picture engine and upscales video content to near 4K quality," said Sonys Ray Hartjen. "That’s right, the programming you currently enjoy, whether from cable/satellite or even your favorite movies on Blu-ray Disc, will be upscaled to an even higher resolution."

He goes on to point out that not only does Sony create 4K projectors, 4K upscaling Blu-ray Disc players and 4K Ultra HDTVs, but also 4K professional cameras for production studios. Even more, Sony has its own studio – Sony Pictures Entertainment – that produces 4K content every day. That said, most of that content will trickle down into its 84-inch 4K Ultra HDTV beast.

"In the next couple of weeks, the XBR-84X900 television will ship to customers who placed pre-orders since the product introduction in September," Hartjen said. "As an extra bonus, included free with the purchase will be the world’s first 4K Ultra HD delivery solution, complete with pre-loaded, native 4K entertainment."

The content will be super-cool mind-blowing brag-to-your-neighbors kind of media, not some goofy 4K junk shot as a short demo. In fact, Sony plans to provide full length feature Hollywood productions made available exclusively to those who purchase the 84-inch 4K Ultra HDTV.

"As the leader in the 4K technology platform, you will continue to see Sony refer to 4K Ultra HD because unlike other consumer electronics companies, Sony is involved in the entire technology ecosystem, including making 4K production cameras, producing 4K content, and even installing over 10,000 4K projectors in cinemas across the country," he said.

Sonys XBR-84X900 4K Ultra HDTV is supposedly available this month for a monster price of $24,999.99 USD. Features include dynamic edge-lit LED backlighting, a three-chip 4K X-Reality Pro picture engine, a 10-unit Live Speaker System, passive Full HD 3D capabilities, network connectivity and more.

Nokia has received a 1 35 billion grant to develop the strongest material ever made

Graphene is a class 2D structure measuring just one atom thick. Its the strongest material ever produced; 300 times tougher than steel, its one of the lightest conductors in existence.

Nokia is leading the electronic firms within the Graphene Flagship Consortium, which includes 73 other companies and academic institutions from a number of mediums. The Finnish handset manufacturer has received a grant of $1.35 billion to research and develop graphene for practical applications, with the European Union for the Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) providing the grant itself.

"Nokia is proud to be involved with this project, and we have deep roots in the field – we first started working with graphene already in 2006," said Henry Tirri, EVP, CTO of Nokia. "Since then, we have come to identify multiple areas where this material can be applied in modern computing environments. We’ve done some very promising work so far, but I believe the greatest innovations have yet to be discovered. Graphene happens to be an area where we, in Europe, have all the important players in the value chain who are ready to use it in applications. From that perspective, this is a very efficient and promising way of doing research investments for Europe."

"During the last 18 months we have seen a tremendous effort to build collaboration between European academia and industry," added Tapani Ryhänen, Nokias head of the Sensor and Material Technologies Laboratory. "Now we have all the ingredients in place to be globally successful. We believe that new two-dimensional materials will have an impact on industrial value chains in many ways, creating opportunities for new products, services and economic growth."

"Not only does creating a graphene research consortium open up new research possibilities, it will also create work and jobs across all of Europe," said Jani Kivioja, Research Leader at Nokia Research Center. "This kind of research is also an investment to the people that live within the EU, from an economy perspective."

"When we talk about graphene, we’ve reached a tipping point. We’re now looking at the beginning of a graphene revolution. Before this point in time, we figured out a way to manufacture cheap iron that led to the Industrial Revolution. Then there was silicon. Now, it’s time for graphene."

Tapani believes graphene is unlikely to become the norm for products, but instead itll be used to enhance products by improving existing materials and products.

Making products out of graphene will definitely happen across lots of different industries. By introducing people from different markets together within the EU-based consortium, we can begin to make real-world applications that benefit us all.

Really, this type of technology has radically improved the properties of many materials that can be used in our industry. It was discovered in the EU, and we’re very proud to have been involved from the very early years and now to be participating in the consortium. We have a very functional research team in place that can do world-class research with our partners.

We have kept our eyes open, and believe that this will bring immediate impact to our products over the coming years in some way or another.

Some 3G Connection Troubles Of iPad 2

Just when things were beginning to look like everything was going well for the iPad 2, especially after obtaining top honors on Consumer Reports’ rankings, there seem to be some nagging issues affecting Verizon iPad 2 owners.

Specifically, the issue relates to the 3G enabled version of Verizon’s iPad 2 unable to connect to Big Red’s 3G network. Although it doesn’t necessarily have any ties with any death grip issues, the problem is only resolved by performing the taxing process of resetting the tablet completely with the help of iTunes. Moreover, it’s unable to connect properly by resetting the network settings – so the only resolution is going through with that hard reset.

From the sound of it all on Apple’s discussion forums, one user started a thread regarding the problem on their iPad 2, and from there, it’s obvious from other owners that this isn’t an isolated issue. Increasing now to 6 whole pages of people conversing and attempting to troubleshoot the issue, it’s still yet to be conclusive whether or not this is indeed a widespread problem affecting many tablets.

Galaxy Note 10 1 Can Now Be Rooted Using Odin

Galaxy Note 10.1 is a new entry in the series of tablets by Samsung. Though the device was announced at the MWC this year, the device had some problems and the public release delayed due to that. Well, Samsung lately announced the release of the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet’s source code which allowed the developers to dig deeper and root it.

The developers over at XDA Forum have found out a way to root the latest Galaxy Note 10.1 and it comes in the form of a pre-rooted Stock ROM. If the word rooting sound strange to you, let me make you familiar with it. By rooting your device, you are allowing the apps on your device to access system-specific files. There are some apps in the Google Play which require your device to be rooted in order to install them, so if you root your device, you will be able to access those apps.

The root method for the Galaxy Note 10.1 uses the Odin Tool to flash the Stock ROM to your device and when you are done with it, you will have root access on your device. It doesn’t consist of any complex steps and it’s easy to gain root access on your device. Hit up the source link given below to see exact steps.

The New New Twitter Wants the World to be more Social

Boasting a smoother user experience and design, welcome the New, New Twitter.

Twitter has been relatively unchanged since it’s been around, and by relatively I compare it only to the way it rolls our features.

Whereas Facebook shoots first and asks questions later, Twitter seems to put together informative videos that really showcase the new experience through real life stories and adds excitement to the roll-out.

As you’ll see in the video below, the new Twitter experience puts emphasis on design and a more “interaction-centered” experience.

Power tweeters and novices alike will notice a much more “social” feel with the uniform action tabs added to both the web and mobile sites. (The Mobile site looks awesome!)

They’ve also made the home screen more readable. Our mind naturally wants to read left to right, and the previous design forced right side emphasis to see what our stats were etc, with the profile page reading the logical right to left. Now, it’s there all the time. Thank you from our necks.

Beyond the design changes, a more experience-based change in the culture of Twitter can be felt in the copy that they’re using to describe this new phase on Twitter’s life.

“Home” “Connect” “Discover” and “Me”

As the world becomes more wholly aware of social media (really less aware and more active), we’re definitely going to see the emphasis of trends and connecting to each other about noteworthy topics in the world. Under the “Discover” heading, they invite users to: ‘Spot a #hashtag? Enter it here to discover all of its related stories, conversation and content.”

I personally love the #hashtag not only to connect with others around a particular topic, but the ability to have organized Twitter Chats with multiple users in realtime. The connections made through regular interaction around #hashtags has created new business, networking opportunities, and lifelong friends, all surrounded in conversation.

As we move forward and progress in this social space it’s clear that user interaction is the key to a great experience. Look at companies like foursquare and Flipboard, praised for their experiences.

Design aesthetics on the web is no longer an option, but a mandate. It needs to look good and feel good to maintain a wide user base.

I’m excited to see what changes Twitter continues to make, and more excited to see the new interesting use cases that will undoubtedly come out of the redesign.

What do you think about the new Twitter changes and about Twitter in general?

Demand of LED Technology is Rapid Rise

The demand for the light-emitting diode (LED) technology in Indonesia is estimated to grow 20% -30% in the last year. Demand increases with decreasing prices and increasing public awareness of environmentally friendly products.
According Djohan Tanuwidjaja, Director of PT Alfa Dynamics Tripratama - one of the suppliers of LED technology in Indonesia, the demand for LED continues to increase in recent years, mainly from the advertising sector, hotels, and shopping centers.
According to him, LEDs offer a reduction in electricity costs by 60%, although the current price of the product is relatively more expensive 3-5 times compared with conventional lamps. However, in line with demand, the product prices will slow down significantly to balance market.
Djohan optimistic demand for LEDs in the world will continue to increase and replace conventional lamps in the next 10 years. Based on the BCC Research report, global market value of LEDs for lighting is estimated to reach U.S. $ 5.4 billion in 2009 and is projected to rise to $ 8.2 billion in 2014.
The second largest segment is background lighting or backlighting displays, predicted to reach U.S. $ 1.6 billion in 2014, with growth of 11% per year, from the achievement of 2009 amounted to U.S. $ 933 million.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Vs HTC One Which Will Come On Top

It is come to my attention that in the past few weeks or since i announced V2.0 of this blog i have been mainly writing about Samsung topics. So today i would like to adjourn this matter and in the coming weeks i will write about other topics so stay tuned. Also in the end of the month there are also some very interesting articles which are being planned for. Going up to the statement in hand today, i am here announcing that in the coming weeks i am going to release two in depth articles about both the HTC One and Galaxy S4. Actually at first this article was just a 1 part article but then i thought than between these two device i really cant crown a better device overall so i decided to break the article up and these articles will direct you to why one device is better than the other, so its a win win situation of the fans of both devices. Additionally, before i can write anything out i must have my hands on with the HTC One so it can be fair as i already had my hands on with the Galaxy S4. This will take some time as i will be busy the whole of next week so, ill just have to sneak some time off to go to the HTC store and try out the HTC One.

GTA Vice City Coming For iOS And Android On December 6th

Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto franchise is one of the most iconic on any gaming platform, and to commemorate the tenth anniversary since the release of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, a port for iOS and Android is set to arrive on December 6th. Rockstar will be rolling back the years for the nostalgic GTA fans, and as well as confirming the release date in a press statement today, it also added the title will cost $5.

The tenth anniversary edition of Grand Theft Auto III went down a treat having been re-released for mobile, and if, like me, you enjoyed the original, I’m sure you’ll be looking forward to the release on December 6th.

In its press release, Rockstar noted the 2012 edition of Vice City includes "several enhancements unique to the iOS and Android platforms," such as "updated character models and lighting effects, [and] new and more precise firing and targeting options." In addition, the controls have been adapted to the touch-based interface, and as was the case for Grand Theft Auto III, they are customizable. There’s nothing I hate more than playing a game and not being able to adjust the controllers to suit, but having thoroughly enjoyed GTA III on the iPad and iPhone, I don’t think there’s much danger of Rockstar messing this one up.

As well as allowing gamers the chance to relive a classic first made famous on the PlayStation 2, it will also tide gamers over until the release next spring of Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar has been teasing amazing screenshots all year, but only recently revealed exactly when the title would be releasing. Spring is a pretty vague bracket, but it is available to preorder for those looking to secure themselves a copy when it does eventually retail.

We will, of course, let you know as soon as Grand Theft Auto: Vice City reaches the App and Google Play Stores. Often, the Android version hits a snag and is delayed, so if you are in ownership of a smartphone or tablet running Google’s mobile operating system, be prepared for the worst.

10 New Features For Upcoming Galaxy S4

Samsung finally announced galaxy s4. South Korean smartphone manufacturer announced to bring this smartphone to market on a ceremony in Newyork on 14 march.

This smartphone will build with eye tracking, gesture recognition technology, news from Routers News Agency. This smartphone will launch in the market at the end of April. But the price of this smartphone was not published by the authority of Samsung.

New 10 features of Galaxy s4

Smart Scroll or Eye Scroll

One feature which will surely be there is the Eye Tracking Technology. Under this technology, the Samsung Galaxy S IV users would be able to enjoy the auto-scroll on it. Here is a screenshot of the Samsung Galaxy S IV interface which have been circulating all around.

Air Gesture

Youre driving in the car with your phone mounted on the dashboard and it rings. What do you do? If you take your hand off the wheel, reach across the dashboard and slide the answer button, you might veer into another lane by the time your mom starts talking on the other end.

Fortunately, with Samsungs new Smart Call Accept feature you can answer the phone and have it turn on the speakerphone with the wave of a hand. You can control your music player with Smart Gestures, allowing you to wave right past that Taylor Swift song your wife snuck onto your playlist. You can even cycle through open tabs in the Web browser with gestures.

Group Play

Even the best smartphone speakers arent loud enough to fill a large room all by themselves. But what if you could have all of your friends phones act as speakers and turn themselves into a giant stereo? With the Galaxy S4s Group Play feature, all you need to do is tap phones and you can stream a song to every other handset in the room.

With the Galaxy S4, you and your buddies can share more than music, photos or videos. You can cooperate or compete in games such as "Asphalt 7" racing or "Gun Brothers" -- and those are just two of many titles that will support this feature. Were holding out for a mobile version of "World of Warcraft."

S-Voice Drive

Samsung adds a new interface to its S-Voice voice assistant to offer functionality when youre driving.

S Health

Your smartphone is your constant companion, so why not use it as a digital health counselor? Samsungs new S Health app monitors how much youve walked, how many calories youve burned and what youve eaten (though you have to enter this manually) When paired with an accessory, you can even measure your heart rate. Better still, special sensors in the phone record the external temperature and humidity level to help you decide how far to push yourself in the heat.

Temperature and Humidity sensors

The Galaxy S4 also features temperature and humidity sensors to know the current status of your surroundings.

Dual Camera photos and recording

Two cameras are better than one. With the Galaxy S4s Dual Camera mode, you can capture stills or videos from both the rear-facing, 13-MP camera and the front-facing 2-MP webcam at the same time. Just imagine recording the look on your own face while you watch and record a concert or even the birth of your child!

Sound & Shot feature

You can capture  up to 9 seconds of audio while capturing a picture to make it more interesting.

S Translator

Ever get an important email thats at least partly written in Spanish or contains Chinese characters? Samsungs S Translator will convert emails, SMS messages and ChatON IMs from 9 different languages to English (or your native tongue).

Drama shot

You can combine all stages of action that takes place in burst mode into one photo with this feature. So if youre taking a photo of someone running, you can combine many pictures to depict the act of running in one picture.

Android based fastest smartphone processor

Galaxy s4 is built with Jelly bean Android operating system.  This is the next version of Galaxy s3. Galaxy s3  was sold more than 4 core unit.

Samsung authority said that more than 327 mobile operator 155 countries will sold the galaxy s4. Galaxy S4 will come market with two color Black and White. This smartphone has the facilities of 13 MP camera, 4.99 inch Amolad  Display, HD video facility. Techno researchers predict that Samsung galaxy S4 will compete with Apple, Nokia, HTC, Sony.

Quarter 3 2012 Budget Ultraportable Laptop Buyers Guide Php25 000 or below

It is pretty amazing these days what you can get for Php25,000 or less. Three years ago, all you could expect where either netbooks or big bulk low end laptops. Here are my favorites.

1. Asus Eee PC X101CH - Php11,990 to Php13,990

These days I would not really recommend a netbook. I am not very fond of these Atom powered devices, not even the newer Cedar Trail platforms. While they were fine a few years ago, they have fallen far behind the power curve. They feel slow by todays standards. HD playback is still iffy.

The 10.1-inch low resolution 1024 x 600 screens, do not help. They feel cramp for web browsing. With the 10.1-inch display comes with a keyboard which is a  bit smaller than standard sized. Still you do get a full function computer at less than 14K, which can run a desktop grade browser and office suite.

My favorite netbook is the Asus Eee PC X101CH. It will set you back Php11,990 to Php13,990,  and if you get it with with Windows 7 or DOS, and depending on where you get it.

While short on power, it is a very handy package to carry around at just about an inch thick and only 2.2 pounds in weight. Still, this is best as a second computer, as a back-up to a desktop or larger laptop.

Quick Specs:

  • OS: DOS or Windows 7 Starter
  • Display: 10.1-inch (1024 x 600 pixel resolution)
  • Processor: Intel Atom N2600 (dual core 1.6 GHz)
  • RAM: 1 GB (not upgradeable)
  • Storage: 320GB hard drive
  • Wireless: WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0
  • Notable Ports: USB 2.0 and HDMI out
  • Card Reader: Yes
  • Webcam: Yes
  • Battery: 3-cell rated at 5 hours (3-4 hours real world use)

More about the Asus Eee PC X101CH at this link.

2. Acer TravelMate B133 - Php15,999 to Php17,999

Going up a few thousand in price, at Php16,999 you have the Acer TravelMate B133. That price is without an operating system. It is a bit hard to find, but you can get one from Asianic. Order it online an you can get it for Php15,999 with Windows 7 Starter.

I could be perfectly happy with this for day to day use. You move up to a larger 11.6-inch display which gets you a HD (1366 x 768) resolution. The larger screen comes with a larger, more comfortable, keyboard. You also get a much more powerful dual core Intel Celeron processor and double the RAM.  The Acer TravelMate B133 is truly a current generation offering with a USB 3.0 port and Bluetooth 4.0.

A just over an inch thick, and at 3.1 pounds it is light enough to carry around daily.

Quick Specs:

  • OS: Linux or Windows 7 Starter
  • Display: 11.6-inch (1366 x 768 pixel resolution)
  • Processor: Intel Celeron B877 (dual core 1.4 GHz)
  • RAM: 2 GB
  • Storage: 320GB hard drive
  • Wireless: WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0
  • Notable Ports: USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and HDMI out
  • Card Reader: Yes
  • Webcam: Yes
  • Battery: 6-cell (4400 mAh)

More about the Acer TravelMate B133 at this link.

3. Asus X410A - Php20,990 to Php22,990

Not everyone is happy with an 11.6-inch or smaller display. While this is technically not an Ultraportable which means 4 pounds or less. The Asus X401A weighs in a 4.1 pounds, about a pound or more less than other low cost 14-inch laptops. Close enough. This gives you a full sized 14-inch laptop at a reasonable price. This unit as has a USB 3.0 port.

At Php20,990 you get it with DOS. At Php22,990, you get it with Windows Home Basic. This is a pretty powerful unit with an Intel B970 dual core processor inside. This is by far the most powerful of our four recommendations on this post.

4. 11.6-inch Sony Vaio E (E11115EG)

For the past 17 months we have been AMD E-350 and later, AMD E-450 based systems for those looking for a low cost ultraportable. The AMD E-450 is now being replaced by the AMD E2-1800 accelerated processing unit. In truth, it is not much faster than the AMD E-450, but it does come with one nice bonus, a USB 3.0 port.

I expect to see more of these AMD E-2 1800s in the market soon. But right now the only ultraportable AMD E-2 1800 available is the 11.6-inch Sony Viao E. It is priced at Php23,990. I suspect in a few weeks or months you will see some HP, Lenovo and Samsung versions prices 2-3K lower. But it is a Sony Vaio after all.
